What we do

01.

Design

When you work with CLAY, you won’t need to find an outside designer for your space - you’ll have the support of our in-house team of experts who work to understand your vision, needs and budget. They are with you from the very beginning, they’re key to ensuring your space is both stunning and functional, using industry-leading technology to help execute and bring your new space to life.

02.

Renovations

From completely redesigning entire homes, to updating single rooms like kitchens, bathrooms or basements, no project is too big or too small. We’ll work with you to understand your unique needs and shape a space you love.

03.

Additions

Maybe you love your home, but it isn’t meeting your needs anymore. Or maybe you’ve considered moving, but decided to invest in your current space instead. Whatever your vision is, the road to get there doesn’t have to feel overwhelming and complicated. Our team of honest, caring experts and  full-suite of services are here to help you design and create something that better meets your needs now and for years to come.

04.

New Builds

At CLAY, we take a holistic approach to custom builds, ensuring your space is unique and functional, reflective of your taste and crafted with care. From design concepts to the final details, our designers, carpenters and cabinet makers are your trusted partners every step of the way. Whether it’s a family home, cottage or something else entirely, we’re here to help you create a space shaped for your life, and one you can feel proud of.

05.

Millwork & Cabinetry

When it comes to wood, if you can envision it, we can build it. We pride ourselves on designing,  building and restoring everything from vanities to mantles, cabinets, trim, decks, porches and more, with an unmatched eye for detail and passion for unique and beautiful results. And everything is built in house, so your pieces are one-of-a-kind and uniquely yours.

06.

Heritage & Restoration Work

We specialize in heritage construction that respects the past while meeting today’s standards. Our team has extensive experience navigating heritage permitting, working closely with municipalities and conservation authorities to ensure approvals are handled smoothly and correctly.  Every project is approached with attention to detail, historical accuracy, and a deep respect for the building’s legacy.

Our goal is simple: protect the heritage value, maintain the original look, and ensure the building stands strong for generations to come.

07.

Commercial Projects

We deliver commercial projects that balance durability, functionality, and craftsmanship. From custom millwork, such as contractor and reception desks, to full interior fit-outs, our team works closely with clients to create spaces that are both practical and well-built. Our experience also includes specialized builds, such as constructing new kennels and purpose-designed spaces that require thoughtful planning, code compliance, and long-term performance. Whether the project is a renovation, addition, or new build, we approach each commercial job with clear communication, attention to detail, and a focus on meeting operational needs.

The result is commercial spaces that work hard, look professional, and are built to last.

Why Clay?

Great Designs. Real People. In an era of global outsourcing, we remain committed to local craftsmanship. We believe furniture and cabinetry require a level of "face-time" and precision that mass manufacturing simply cannot provide.

Why Local Matters

Accountability:
We handle the entire lifecycle—from initial design to final installation. No third-party contractors.

Sustainability:
We prioritize local suppliers and urban salvage to minimize our footprint.

Community: We invest in our people and the future of the trade through dedicated apprenticeship programs.

The Result:
A sustainable, human-level product where the value is felt in both the craftsmanship and the experience.

Our Process

We believe the renovation and building experience should be transparent, collaborative, and exciting. At Clay, our process is designed to guide you every step of the way -from first ideas to final finishes with no pressure and no cost for the initial consultation.

1. Initial Appointment

Based on the scope of work, your first meeting is scheduled with Craig or a member of our sales and design team. We’ll visit your home, walk through the project together, and listen carefully to your needs and goals.

Back at our office, the design team will work on developing proposed layout options, and a projectproposal including detailed cost estimates.

2. Proposal Review

About 3–4 weeks later, we’ll invite you to our showroom to review the proposal. This meeting is a great opportunity to explore options, ask questions, and see the products and services we offer up close.

3. Follow-Up & Revisions

We encourage you to take time to consider your options. Ask questions -our goal is to ensure you feel confident and well-informed before moving forward.

4. Ready to Go

Once the contract is signed and the deposit is received, we begin the next phase: refining the design, applying for permits, and making detailed selections for your project.

5. Renovation Begins

From start to finish, you’ll work with the same dedicated designer and lead carpenter. The rest of the Clay team works under their direction to ensure every detail is handled with care, quality, and craftsmanship.

6. Enjoy

Now it’s time to settle in: pour a glass of wine or make a cup of coffee, and start making memories in your newly transformed space!
