Chances are, if your project is underway, you'll cross paths with Steve Vanderlaan.
Steve is our Site Supervisor, known for his calm, solutions-focused approach, excellent communication, and ability to keep projects moving smoothly. He earned his Red Seal Carpenter designation in 2012 and is passionate about mentoring the next generation of carpenters, always taking the time to coach our team and make sure they have the tools and support they need to succeed.
Steve began his career with Millennium Construction in May 2014 as a Lead Carpenter. Following the merger with CLAY in 2024, he transitioned into the role of Site Supervisor, where he now supports multiple projects, coordinates site activities, and works closely with clients, trades, and our internal teams to ensure every project is delivered with the quality and care we're known for.
Whether he's troubleshooting an unexpected site challenge or helping a carpenter develop a new skill, Steve's steady leadership and positive attitude make him an invaluable part of the CLAY team.
Outside of work, Steve and his wife, Lindsay, stay busy raising their four adorable kids.
